My point is that she seemed to be some amoral and self-absorbed that she cared only about the effect of his predilictions on her. I can imagine a lot of reactions by the wife of a pedophile who is finally caught after many years, but I wouldn’t expect one like, “I’m glad you’ll be gone after being so annoying to me for so long.”
Very compelling, but relentlessly sad. Relentlessly.

I know I’m dredging this up, but I just saw the doc for the first time and… jesus. My friends and I were just blown away, speechless until we watched the extras CD and then there was a lot of muttering (especially during the witness session that the mother managed to tape record).
One thing that no one’s mentioned- the obviously-disturbed witness that goes into graphic detail about the rapes (which somehow didn’t result in complaints from the neighbours over screaming, bloody clothing, etc.) uhh, how do I put this delicately… is it just me or does he keep touching his crotch? I swear, take another look. He either looks like he’s in the fgirst stages of a hard on or is swatting at his balls. Supremely odd (though it would have been interesting to hear from more witnesses, not just him and the ones who denied the claims).
