I saw an ad in the paper today for an ISP called [Great Barrier Reef](http://www.gbronline.com). I was intrigued by the monthly price–less than half of what I am paying now for Earthlink’s dial-up service. They seem to offer all the same services that Earthlink does, as well.

Am I missing something here, or is this a really good deal? Has anyone here ever tried them? What do you think?

I don’t know anything about GB, but Juno/NetZero offers internet access (unlimited?) and e-mail for the same price, so I don’t see why GB can’t.

Juno/netzero weigh your ass down with crap software/adware.
Personally I think dial up is dead. DSL! but I suppose you probably don’t need it huh?

10/month is pretty much the standard for non-brand name companies. They usually offer the same service or so, just make sure they don’t sell your information or whatnot.

Well, **Harmonix** , if DSL can’t make this board any faster, what use is it, then? 🙂

I’ve seen other ISPs with the same monthly price, but, as you said, there’s always a catch–ads, spam, no web space, no Usenet, not really unlimited, etc. I’m not seeing the catch here.

I may just have to give it a try.
