I’m looking to replace my Akai DR-16 with a dedicated computer and firewire D/A converter.

I’ve been looking at the MOTU 828mkII but I have yet to meet anyone who has some time behind one.

What I really need is something that can record up to 16 tracks at a time (which I think means I need two 828’s).

What are the downfalls of this machine (if any). Good points? Driver problems? Etc.

Does anyone have another good machine I might want to look at?

FYI: I’m running a PC based studio at the moment (read: I can’t convert because all my software is already PC software… heh hee.)
