I was vaguely sure I’d seen this on TV when it happened, but I wasn’t sure if it was on the news or on an episode of a TV series. I did some internet searching and found nothing, so I sent him an email. This was about a month ago. I suspect he already had the Jeep question waiting in the wings and needed another WW2 question to go along with it to make a full column. He seems to write only long columns these days, which is good for us, right? 🙂 And now you know why I changed my sig line! * * * When all else fails, ask Cecil. ---

Well, this one time I was really down in the dumps. I thought my life wasn’t worth living. Now, the man living near me read The Straight Dope, but I had just always dismissed it as silly gibberish. One night, when I was feeling down he showed up at my door telling me that Cecil had sent him to me. I don’t know why I didn’t tell him to go away, but we talked for hours. At the end I opened my heart to Cecil and a sensation of peace, harmony, and contempt for ignorant people filled my heart. I feel that Cecil answered my request for his love that night. Praise Cecil. ---

We still think that Zette, wink wink, nudge nudge. Enjoy your 15 minutes Jab1, it was a good question, and I was fascinated. Myself, I’ve never had a question answered, I think I’ve post 3, but I have had a couple of my replies used. Once in the newspaper, and once in the online archive, which I guess means that it’s in one on the books??? Although /rant,grr/ I noticed that it was not used when that column was the classic of the week online. /rant,grr/ Maybe they just thought I was full of myself, nudge nudge, wink wink ---

I hit a home run my first time at bat! **JillGat** sent me some emails when it was decided he would answer my question. In one of them, she said he’d received **500** questions that week alone.
