# Has interviewing serial killers been useful?

Thanks I appreciate it. Alcoholism has been in my family. I had an alcoholic mom that died of liver cirrhosis and an alcoholic uncle in India that died of liver cirrhosis.

I admire how determined people are to have new things in their lives in place of drinking. Whatever effort it takes, people are willing to do that. Way to make it happen!

While the paucity of mental health services is a real problem, it wouldn’t significantly reduce “pedophiles and psycopaths[sic] and sociopaths and narcissists” and certainly wouldn’t eliminate serial killers, nor are “insane asylums and lobotomies” a solution we should aspire to in the 21st Century.
