# Has the "cell phone at gas pump = disaster" warning been debunked?

I almost got flattened by a Chicago city bus because I was not paying attention while I was on my phone.

I stepped out into the street and hear a long honk and turn to see a city bus almost in my face (maybe two feet away but they are big so seemed inches). Fortunately, they generally do not go very fast from one stop to the next and the driver spotted my dumbass and was prepared. Still…underwear change after that one for me (not really but it was that kinda thing…the pucker factor may have been what saved me from that indignity).

Lesson learned.
