Thank you, **Morbo.** \*\*Jack Dean Tyler \*\*was the greatest troll we ever had. I died a little inside the day he was banned. I know it was necessary, but I still feel like a little piece of me is missing. He didn’t go insane. He started out that way. But any listing of such luminaries would be incomplete without him. ---

It can be very scary to watch someone go through a manic episode or severe depression or something of that nature, but I wouldn’t call that insane. ---

We had that [one chick](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=405187) who claimed to be JFK’s daughter by a secret first marriage. Her “proof” all seemed to come from numerology (like someone’s birthday happened to be the same as the frequency of a radio station she was working at, stuff like that). ---

What is “insane” nowadays? Lots of people here have depression, bipolar disorder, alcoholism, Ph.D.'s, and any number of signs of “insanity.” ---
