IMHO the hosted cloud version is probably the better choice for most forums, including ours, as long as we can afford to pay the bills. If the SDMB were ever at risk of shut down because of the bills, maybe self-hosting becomes more attractive, but otherwise I don’t think it would be worth the effort (to our mods and owners). Strictly IMHO. ---
