# Has there been any US female Gulf War casualties?

The news reports only have a figure for total US casualties.

Jessica Lynch and Shoshana Johnson (both rescued POWs) were injured pretty badly. I don’t think there have been any confirmed female deaths.

Considering casualties include wounded, at least two more from the 507th, Jessica Lynch and Shoshanna I-can’t-remember–her-last-name.

The interest may just be regional because Lori Piestewa has been mentioned in the papers here almost on a daily basis. Phoenix has a landmark named “Sqaw Peak” that many take to be offensive. There’s a big push to rename it after Lori Piestewa along with a big controversy.
