That reminds me - I don’t remember if there’s enough information in the “introduction” to The Iron Dream to figure out if the world in which Adolf Hitler became a noted science fiction illustrator and then author after emigrating to the US is a better or worse one than the standard model.

My vote would be worse. The “Greater Soviet Union” rules all of Europe, including an overt invasion and conquest of Britain in 1948; millions of Jews are dead (just not as many, since they’re the victims of Stalinesque purges rather than outright genocide); there’s presumably a nuclear arms race since atomic weapons are part of “Lord of the Swastika”; life for whatever portions of Asia that are under Japanese control presumably isn’t very rosy; and perhaps worst of all fascism was never discredited- the popularity of Hitler’s novel is due to millions of Americans thinking that tossing out “decadent” democracy in the face of the Soviet threat would be a fine idea.
