I lasted all of 1:42 of that Christmas in the Northwest before I bailed. If that’s the shortest amount of time, I’m not ashamed. I doubt POWs could take much more than that. ---

I made it to the end. It was uniformly awful. For me anything, anything Bomey-M related is complete anathema. But they have a fucking christmas albumn, so we hear it every year. FWIW, the excellent movie [Touching The Void](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0379557/) features Boney-M failrly spectacularly where the protagonist is stuck in a crevasse and starts hallucinating. I feel like that when I go to the shops at this time of year. Just with less broken leg ---

Anything that gets overplayed (and that’s definitely one that is) very quickly puts me in a _less_ festive mood… My usual, slightly puerile, reaction to hearing Mariah’s is to make up some alternate lyrics, e.g: I don’t want a lot for Christmas There is just one thing I need _A gallon of the finest whiskey And a four-foot bong of weed…_ ---
