That song was the only Christmas song my late wife and I ever played at Christmas time. But play it we did joyously. 6 packs of Tuborg. Which is (or was) beer. Plus 12 rounds of 1 beer!! ---

Like **Kent\_Clark,** I used to work in radio, but by the time the 24/7 Christmas thing took hold, I was only doing a weekend gig, 10-3 on Saturdays, which I did for 16 years. The station was owned by CBS, very corporate-controlled, and the playlist was very short. A song I played at 10am would come around again at 2pm. I mostly enjoyed playing the holiday tunes, the religious and secular alike, though if I’d had to play them every day I would have enjoyed them less. The only song I objected to playing was Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah,” a version sung by Pentatonix. I sent my boss an email about it and said “Have you ever listened to the words of that song??? It’s entirely inappropriate, even offensive to play that as a Christmas song!” He replied that he understood my objection, but it was “the number-one song in the country, so what are we supposed to do?” COVID eventually put an end to my weekend radio career, so I never had to play it again. ---

This is definitely the BEST Christmas song EVER! And not just because it mentions reindeer shit in the lyrics; it’s truly epic on many levels. Listen, I love Christmas music, and right after Halloween we started putting on the music. But there is one song I definitely don’t like, that I thankfully haven’t heard yet… [Snoopy’s Christmas by The Royal Guardsmen](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sh-J4GSPgAM). It’s a fine enough tune, but the lyrics are just very annoyingly structured and written. Instant pass. ---

Christmas music is depressing. It reminds me of cold winters. The worst? The one on Charlie Browns Christmas where they’re all ice skating. I have no radio, I only have to hear this occasionally in public. ---
