In a recent episode with Zach Galifianakis, he acknowledged that he’s constantly making fun of them, but not for any particular reason. He also mentioned that they are one of the closest restaurants and that they always order their lunches for the writers and show crew and the person who delivers the food is really very nice. ---

Several Arby’s restaurants locally have closed in the past several years. Used to be three of them in places I frequented in southern Maryland, but all three of them have closed. So people around here apparently feel there’s something lacking about Arby’s food. ---

The “Have a blessed day” business is mildly irritating, about as irritating as Truett Cathy wasting his money to be on the wrong side of history. But I find it’s usually balanced by a tasty chicken sandwich and employees who get my order right without having to repeat it twice. ---

I used to love their grilled chicken sandwiches when there was one near my work. They were cheap and tasty. Most other fast food restaurants charged a couple bucks more and weren’t as good. I haven’t eaten there in years because the nearest location is a good 40-45 minutes away. I don’t really give a shit what their religious stances are, unless they’re forcing employees to follow them. I have considered decking myself out with pentagrams, upside down crosses, and an old Motley Crue “Shout at the Devil” t-shirt next time I go, just for laughs. I’ve a running bet with a friend on which chain will go under first, Arbys or KFC, which has also really gone down the tubes. ---

Not that cooking at home is an option if I’m considering CFA–the closest one to me is 2 hours away. Then too, fast food isn’t something I specifically leave the house to get more than 3-4 times a year, or even normally drive out of my way for. It’s a convenience food, for when I’m out and around at mealtime and either won’t be home for a long while or have some sort of time pressure making it difficult to cook. Hell, most of the time I won’t even drive more than a block or two out of my way to go somewhere specific. After all, if I was going to go to that kind of trouble and take that kind of time, I could either cook or go to a real restaurant. ---
