Have Any Defunct magazines been Revived (Successfully)?

I miss that magazine. They had great reporting, their report on the Church of Scientology was one of the first to publish the Xenu story, and they named George H.W. Bush’s mistress Jennifer Fitzgerald.

Oh the memories. I did love that rag.

I remember now: Spy also invariably referred to CBS chief Laurence Tisch, since deceased, as a “churlish dwarf billionaire.”

EGM (Electronic Gaming Monthly) went defunct in Jan 2009, came back in April 2010. Sadly, my outstanding subscriptions (somehow I had wound up with two) didn’t get revived along with it.

As far as I know, the revived version is still going, but I don’t really go magazine shopping/browsing much anymore.

And if you want to extend it from just magazines to periodicals in general, you could fill a tome with the number of comic books that have gone defunct and later revived.

This is the one I came in here to say. A weekly magazine, it went defunct in 1972, and was revived as a monthly in 1978. It went defunct again in 2000, but came back as a Parade-like Sunday newspaper supplement in 2004 (though it ceased publication again three years later).

Anyone else notice how ironic that a magazine called “Life” would come and go so often?
