# Have any remakes of classic movies done as well as the original?

I heard that back in the 1970’s somebody made a remake of Akira Kurasowa’s masterpiece \*\* The Hidden Fortress\*\* changing the setting to outer space. I can’t imagine that it made any money or had any impact on Hollywood at all.

I enjoyed the recent remake of _The Thomas Crown Affair_ more than the original. But the original is good, too!

The Ben Stiller/Robert DeNiro version of _Meet The Parents_ is a remake. I haven’t seen the original, although I’ve heard it’s very good.
