I had a torrid affair with a gorgeous black dancer. He was so beautiful. Also, another torrid affair with a perfectly sculpted black Marine. Mmmm. And then I dated a black artist for a while. All great, not sure if race had anything to do with it, but I guess it did because their looks were the initial attraction. ---

Hubby is German. (1st generation American.) Clearly, he is from another planet. Since Cecil’s writings on race on the driver’s Liscenses issued years ago regarding putting one’s race down ( can’t find the link, sorry, hamsters are dying.) I’ve decided that when asked my race on something, I put down _Human_ and I’ve done the same thing for my children’s birth certificates when they were born. Except for the 2000 census. Then our family became the only Hasidic Fiji Islanders in Michigan. ;j Mazel Tov I couldn’t stop myself. I shouldn’t be allowed to fill out forms of any kind. It just brings out the sarcasm. ---

Yes, technically **Javamaven1** and I are an “interracial couple”, but frankly I have never used that term to decribe us. Maybe it’s because of where I live (LA), but I have never considered me being in a relationship with someone from another race being any more signifigant than being in a relationship with someone who is left-handed. It’s just not that important. If being in an interracial couple is truely exceptional in this country, then maybe it would be better if I never lived anywhere else but LA. ---

We have been married 25 years and have 3 kids. Met in college, I don’t think we ever expected it to turn into anything, we were just curious about each other. We dated through much of the 70s. ---

Living in Central California, I do know a few people who are not of mixed race, but I don’t think I know anyone who never had an interracial relationship (If that’s what you mean by affair) except my parents and my mom’s family. They, and so I, are as purely Americans of Mexican descent as such creatures can be pure. I’m in love and married to as white a white man as white men get without being albino. He is tall, stocky, intelligent, confident, self-motivated and fun, all traits that attract me. When i frist saw him, I didn’t think “white”, I thought he walked like he owned the world. I would’ve been attracted if he were blue but probably not if he were mauve because that just doesn’t do it for me personally. ---

I’m half Indian and half English, so I suppose you could say every relationship I’ve been involved in was interracial. I’ve only dated white chicks and one Korean, so far.
