I was wondering has anyone considered me as not a close friend, but y’know, someone who they can get along with. I don’t know… I just like to know my place on the boards. I brought this up because it has been a couple of months that I’ve been here and don’t seem to have made any ‘proper’ friends, only caused annoyance with incessant posting and waffling on about rubbish. ---

Just going through a low point in the advanced teenage years, you know ‘wondering where i’m going, who I am what I’m here for who my friends are’ I’m the sort of person who needs a lot of clarification for a happy life. ---

Sorry dude, I don’t really know you, good or bad. I often wonder the same thing about myself. I’ve been here for over a year and a half. I lurked for a while, registered, got in about 20-30 posts before the big crash erased me. Re-registered, my post count is not spectacular but I try to post consistently. This board is a part of my life, to the extent that my current SO is getting used to me starting a conversation with “You know, the other day there was this thread about…”. It’s become my major source of anecdotes and examples. And yet, nobody knows me here. I always live too far from Dopefests. I have no friends here. I purposely have tried to include a lot of positive, intellectual posts because I was afraid I was being perceived as a troll. I’ve had my wrist slapped by the mods a time or two, always to my surprise. \*\*To the Doper Elite - \*\* how does one break into this inner circle? Does it involve sheep? If so, Mods please delete this post, I’ll just lurk, thanks. ---

There is no Doper Elite, they are more resource-able to contact people on these boards. ---

You’re alright by me. I think you just need to chill out a bit, hard as it may seem when you’re as insecure as you profess to be. Blatent insecurity makes a lot of people uncomfortable and react badly - how about you relax and go with the flow of the boards a little more, or else people will only remember you for the “Please say you like me” posts. And remember - far more people read than post. Just because no one is saying “That was incredibly witty and I wish to snog you right now” it doesn’t mean everyone hates you. Have a little more confidence in yourself. ---
