# Have studies proven that prayer can help heal the sick?

From the [official NCBI website,](https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2802370/) a thorough study from the Indian Journal of Psychiatry titled _Prayer and healing: A medical and scientific perspective on randomized controlled trials_. It pretty much confirms what most other similar studies have shown about the inefficacy of prayer when it comes to healing.
