# Have the British corrupted any Americanisms in recent times?

In the UK they actually are called Schindler’s Lifts. It’s on the plaque in the lift and everything.

Oh I know. You quickly learn that people don’t know NY geography when you go to college in the western tip of the state and an international student asks if you want to pop down to New York City for a night of barhopping _while they’re standing in the western tip of the state_.
