> You’re criticizing democrats for appealing to everyone _except_ older, white males. Unless you happen to think white males are more important than anyone else, that makes absolutely no sense.

This still isn’t true, no matter how many times it’s stated.

It’s certainly an interesting form of argument. He’s certainly correct that Republicans haven’t been involved in any racial gaffes regarding Asians if when others bring up such gaffes you insist they weren’t gaffes.

The people of Nevada disagreed and reacted quite negatively to Angle’s comments.

> That’s pretty lame. It’s not even a gaffe against Asians, or Latinos for that matter. Heck, Arab guys I know get chatted up in Spanish by Cubans all the time. Failure to tell people apart is not just a white trait, and it’s certainly not a racist trait.

You apparantly forgot about Al D’Amato deciding to ridicule Judge Lance Ito during one radio interview by speaking with a parody of a Japanese accent straight out of some WWII movie even though Judge Ito is a third-generation American who speaks perfect English without an accent and probably wouldn’t even know how to order dinner at a Kyoto restaurant.

You also forgot the infamous “Debby spend-it-now” ad and, since you’re claiming that criticizing outsourcing is racist the infamous “Chinese professor” ad.

Also, if you’re going to point to Democratic remarks regarding South Asains, why are you ignoring all the Republican comments regarding South Asian Muslims.

Well, the _good_ people of Nevada disagreed and reacted quite negatively to Angle’s comments, yes.

I thought about posting a patient reply to this, but as you’re simply defining terms in whatever way accommodates your simplistic world-view, I’ll let this one pass. I’m assured that others who read this thread without a particular ax to grind will learn just as I have to ignore your posts.

A patient reply would be welcome. A reply that involves twisting into knots explaining how one can take race into account without discriminating unfairly is not a patient reply, it borders on the legalistic.

Anyway, it looks like SCOTUS will put the final nail in the coffin this week, at least as it regards university admissions.

Even if your point were true, it would have bugger all to do with “quotas”.
