I was going to ask a question about the apparent demise of artificial hearts, since they never make the news anymore. A quick search of GQ yielded one irrelevant thread; not wanting to incur the wrath of **DDG** , a Google search yielded some surprising news–apparently the Jarvik 2000 heart is very promising as a long-term treatment (perhaps because of the adoption of Microsoft naming conventions?).

My question has now morphed into how many Jarviks have there been (besides Mr. & Mrs.), and how many individuals have received any of the variations?
