Perhaps not as exotic but there is not doubt that my walking down Washington St, Dumbo towards the Manhattan Bridge was inspired by “Once Upon A Time In America”, and similarly visiting Monument Valley was inspired by any number of John Ford movies. In fact you could argue the [whole damm trip](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/diary-of-a-wandering-thule/985453) was a homage to my small screen experiences and frankly I found the whole place more akin and couth to “The West Wing” than “Survivor”.
