“Like a Rock” ruined by Chevy truck commercials. “All you need is love” ruined by whatever goddamn commercials are using it now. Not ruined exactly, but I can’t hear Tom Petty’s “American Girl” without thinking of Silence of the Lambs. ---

Oh, that reminds me: Queen’s “I Want it All” ruined by…whatever the hell commercial they used it in a couple years ago. I think it was for a credit card. OTOH, I’ve downloaded two of the songs featured in Lincoln commercials (Shiny Toy Guns’ covers of “Major Tom” and “Burning for You”). Mitsubishi commercials also sometimes have decent music. ---

I like _Alien_[sup]3[/sup], but I despise _Alien Resurrection_ with such passion that I feel like I know what people who hate _Alien_[sup]3[/sup] feel. ---

I’m pretty much out of it regarding what, to me, is “new” music - if it wasn’t for the music in commercials, I’d be grooving to the oldies until I expire! Whenever I hear Snow Patrol, I think “Grey’s Anatomy”. Not sure which media work is “ruined”, though. ---

I just saw a commercial, on Fox, for the Daytona 500, and it’s background song is… U2’s ‘Bad’.:smack: :dubious::rolleyes::smack: I didn’t put it on Fox in the first place \ but I turned it off asap, and now hate the Daytona 500 for no other reason than they, or Fox \ chose a song that has NOTHING to do with the material and just…ruined it. Well, ruined it for me. Ok not really, I love the song, it’s not like a few bars in the background of people looking at trophies is gonna change much but FFS!!! :smack::smack::smack::smack::smack: ---

Well, I can barely watch _Star Wars Ep. IV_ anymore because of Family Guy’s _Blue Harvest_. I keep cracking up. Especially near the end when they’re on the Yavin moon and the guy is holding up the sensor thingy as the Falcon comes in to land. I always say the “pew, pew… gotcha.” LOTR has ruined any movie I see Elijah Wood in. He’s Frodo. Whenever I see him on screen, I yell, “Fr-r-r-oooooooodoooo!” And yes, I have to roll the R. ---

You know how in some Robin Hood stories, Richard Cœur de Lion shows up at the end to reward Robin? Try those after seeing _The Lion in Winter_. Good grief, that movie primed me to wish Richard & John had both lost the crown to the brother with brain. For double suckitude, let’s say it’s Robin McKinley’s _Robin of Sherwood_, at the end of which our stupid Plantagenet king “rewards” the Merry Men by dragging them off to his stupid Crusade. Robin Hood was ruined for me. ---
