# Have you ever seen a celebrity driving in their car?

[Fella driving the car](http://jjtm.homeip.net/newgallery/Ballpark/100_0839.jpg) is Barry Bonds. I and a friend went to Red’s Java House after a game for some grub and when we came out, we heard lots of murmuring and gesturing toward the street. We looked over, and sure ‘nuff, there was Barry. I don’t know who’s with him, but I am curious as to who you have to be to have Barry friggin’ Bonds drive your ass around.
Prior to that, I was driving up Arguello into the Presidio. I got the the four-way stop a moment after Robin Williams did in his dark SUV. He turned left, heading the opposite way I was coming from, so I got a good look. I gave him a little wave, and he waved back.

Several years ago, I was at the International golf tournament in Castle Pines, CO. I was to meet friends at an agreed upon time up by the clubhouse. It was getting close to time to meet, so I looked to find the best way back. BTW, Castle Pines is really hilly and wooded plus it’s at altitude so it is not fun to walk.
If I went via the cartpaths, it was going to take forever, so a quick glance at the program course map (note: golf course score cards are not geographically accurate) showed me that I could hike over a ridge and come out at the top of the 9th hole, right about where I want to be. Needless to say, it was a bad idea, and when I finally got out to civilisation, I emerged into a parking lot sweating, covered in brush and swearing loudly. Turns out it was the players parking lot. I think Phil Mickleson (current Masters champ) wet his pants right there in his courtesy car.
I also saw John Elway (different time) in his Dodge Viper. I don’t think he wet his pants.

I’ve seen Tom Hanks arrive at his mother’s house a few times. I don’t know her, but she’s on our street.

I saw the boxer “Butterbean” at the beach driving a Plymouth Prowler recently. He’s in town for a fight.
A couple of years ago I saw country singer George Jones driving a silver SUV with a Tennessee plate: “Possum”.

About an hour before Metallica was performing at Ravens stadium in Baltimore on July 4th a few years ago, a friend of mine was walking up to to the stadium to meet me at the gate, but she got stopped with a small crowd at an intersection to let a motorcade through. A black van drove by and the passenger side window opened. James Hetfield poked his head out of the window and gave the “rock n roll” sign with his right hand, waved and the van drove off. She was totally and completely awestruck.

What a coincidence! I opened this thread to mention the time I saw MR. T (including gold chains and mohawk) driving along The Loop in Chicago. I think he was in some kind of white Cadillac. The license plate was something like “T 6” or “MR T 6”.

If you drive in the Burbank, Calfornia area (as I do) you can’t help but see Jay Leno driving one of his classic cars and waving to folks.

Didn’t happen to me, but rather to a friend, WWAAAYYYY back when…
This was 1986-87ish at a fancy steakhouse in downtown Chicago. My friend, Ted, worked as a valet. Well, some guy pulls up in a not-crappy-but-not-fancy car, like a Buick Regal or something, gets out, and hands Ted the keys. Ted sits in the driver’s seat and notices that the guy is standing by the door to the restaurant and not going in. Ted says to the guy “Did you need something else, sir?” The guy replies that he’s waiting for his wife, who is driving her own car.
So Ted parks the guy’s ride and a few minutes later a beautiful, platinum blonde pulls up in a fancy new Jaguar. She gets out, gives another valet the keys, walks up to the guy and they both go in. The other valet parks the Jag while Ted thinks nothing of it.
When the other valet came back, he informed Ted that those two people were Ryne Sandberg and his wife. :eek:

When I was in high school, my marching band played at the East-West Game at Stanford a couple times. Leaving the game, our school bus pulled up next to a black Mercedes with tinted windows and the license plate “FLASH80”. Jerry Rice!
The bus practically tipped over as everyone ran to the left side and waved at him. He waved back at us.
Not in a car, but a train…station - **CrankyAsAnOldMan** and I were waiting in line to get on a train from Chicago to Ann Arbor and Jesse Jackson walked between us.
