I won a raffle through the local human society. I only bought one ticket. A basket of 7 Beanie Babies. I gave my kids 2 each then kept the three “retireds” for a year, after which I turned around and sold them for $450 and bought myself the lovely desk I’m writing from right now. This past summer my husband and I won a round-trip package from Seattle to Woodstock '99 through a local radio station. It was . . . quite an experience. I won the shirt off of someone’s back. He bet it playing quarter poker when he couldn’t afford the ante. It wasn’t a very nice shirt. ---

I once won about $90 at the harness race track. Left it there, not on the ponies, but buying a round for all my friends. I also won a Sleeping Beauty Coloring book in kindergarten. ---

I won the mystery game at bowling last year at least a dozen times. Considering the fact that I’m such a mediocre bowler, winning some cash was good consolation. ---

I don’t know if this really counts, but anyway… My pet hamster Smokey won a ‘Herby Derby’ hamster race. They placed the contestant hamsters in hamster-wheel propelled racing cars if you must know. I won some free hamster raising supplies, and about 200 dollars. My dad made a point of telling everyone he knew, so I ended up torn between joy and crushing embarrasment. Other than that, lots of free Cokes during the original Red Hot Summer. Man, every third Coke I drank then was free…ah, those were the days… * * * Personally, I’d have no problem living in a country governed by an evil dictator. As long as **I** got to be that evil dictator. ---

Gee, let me see… - When I was 10 I won 3rd place in a coloring contest and the prize was a Love-Bug model car - I’ve been a player on youth baseball teams that won 4 league championships - I’ve coached youth baseball teams that won 3 league championships - I’ve won several times at Bingo…usually between $35 and $90, although once I won a $400 coverall - I won $75 in a couple of hours one afternoon on the quarter slots in Las Vegas - I’ve won 3 or 4 50-50 drawings at youth football games ($50-$125) - I’ve won a daily drawing at a private club for $265 - I’ve won small amounts on lottery tickets many times and $50 a couple of times - I’ve won the gameball at a HS football game - I’ve won on pull-tickets at a private club ($25-$500) - I’ve won various work-place NFL football pools a couple of times ($60-$150) - I won a NCAA basketball tourney pool once but I can’t remember the amount - I’ve played on a couple of different softball teams that have won the league championship - I’ve won a fantasy-baseball league a couple of times for around $500-$600 * * * Contestant #3 ---

I once came out about $20 ahead at the racetrack. I once won $225 on a slot machine (ended up about $130 ahead for the night). I won a $50 watch in a raffle once. When I was 11, I won on WNBC - 660AM (when it was a rock station with Imus on it) a Two Liter bottle of Sprite and two pairs of Jordache jeans. This was in the early '80s, and those jeans were hot! So I get the certificate, and dad takes me to the mall. The only size they have is a tad small for me. I am suggested to wait a week. But I just HAD to have them then… Got to wear them once each and then my brother inherited them. Oh, and I HATE Sprite! * * * Yer pal, Satan ---
