…if someone you interact with on a regular basis is posting on some site somewhere a gripe, bitch, complaint about you and your annoying behavior? As I read numerous threads in the various forums here on SD about complaints and annoyances about friends, significant others, people we come in contact with everyday, is it possible that somewhere or even possibly here, that someone else is seeking input from others about their complaints about you? Have you ever discovered a thread about you specifically, that you didn’t know the poster was going post about? Okay the BBQ Pit doesn’t count. ---

Nope. If they want me to change something, they have to actually come talk to me about it. If they don’t want me to change, they are free to complain about me anywhere they see fit. ---

Yes. My husband was a long term member of the SDMB and he directed me here one day to read a specific thread. I did a search and found some other threads he had written, including one discussing a huge miscommunication we had in the bedroom once. It threw me for a loop because I didn’t “know” any of the posters here and felt a little weird about it until I heard everyone’s comments and got a feel for the board. Ended up being very funny and introduced me to the SDMB and some cool posters. ---

Not really. Most of the people I know that might have something bad to say about me are not really message board people. But they might talk smack in e-mail, though. A close friend recently started a blog. I think I’ll have to be extra special nice to her from now on. ---

I believe it was an ex-friend of mine (now a friend again) who wrote a letter to Tomato Nation’s advice column about a falling out we’d had over a cell phone courtesy dispute. I occasionally read the site, as well, and ran across the post. Of course, her letter didn’t show up until several months after the initial incident, so it wasn’t a big deal to me, but it was still kind of an odd and not-exactly-pleasant surprise.
