Have you mistaken a bill for junkmail?

In my bohemian mood bills are junkmail.

Not me, and not a bill, but I think it fits.

I work for a large employer that has its HR handled by an outside company, which is Telus. This company is also a telephone/internet/television provider (search me as to why they do HR as well…) and we get regular junk mail from them.

Recently our company had lay-offs. People who were qualified received letters offering packages to retire. They came in Telus envelopes. Many, many people did not read these letters, figuring it was more junk mail, and since our pay stubs, if mailed, have our employer’s logo on them. It screwed up the redeployment process mightily when it was figured out what had happened.

Occasionally get bills that say I’m overdue and I always pay on time. I’m convinced some of our bills get slipped into the newspaper-like ads that come in the mail and get recycled. Have started going through every piece of mail lately to prevent this.
