okay…i have this problem at my gym where it seems that other women seem to think that i may have different female parts that they have never seen before. i swear to God/Allah/Elohim/Jehovah/Buddha etc,. that these women have never seen a naked black woman before. yes…my pubic hair is just as nappy as the hair on my head. no, i do not wash my hair everyday. no, this is not my real hair. yes, black men have big…oh,ahem…excuse me…(trying to blush) but anyways, these women (espcially the older ones) find that they must stop whatever they are doing to watch me undress, walk to the shower and WAIT for me to come back from the shower…AND THEN strike up convo with me while i’m naked… STOP! ARRêT! PARADA! If you have a question to ask about Black people. Just ask me…damn…i’d rather that then you sit there staring at me… ---

Seriously, though, I suspect they _haven’t_ seen a naked black woman before. I suspect it’s not a matter of supressed racism, though. Different is interesting, and these women likely have only seen other white women their whole lives. You and i know that there are no differences in structure . . . but dark skin is not the norm for them. I heard a similar complaint from a buddy of mine in Salt Lake City. As one of few black guys at the College I attended, he often got glances in the locker room. He figured it was just sheltered white boys trying to find out if he really was hung like a mule. (Of course, men in a locker room are usually very circumspect about staring at one another. It’s just not kosher to be caught looking at another guy’s package.) If they’re actively rude, call them on it. If not, I’d say you should just shrug and chalk it up to ignorance. ---

Ummm… Vivian. On behalf of all women… oops. On behalf of myself, if I ever run into you in a gym (not likely, since I work out at home), I would like to apologize in advance for my behavior. I don’t mean to stare. It has nothing to do with wondering if you have different parts. It has EVERYthing to do with the fact that I find black women hot. Really, really hot. I mean, tie my ass to a board and throw me down Lisa Nicole Carson’s cleavage. I can count on one (maybe two) hands the number of black women I have encountered that I haven’t had some sort of attraction to. There’s just something about them.
