Have you said too much online to ever win public office?

Their view is simply that gays will go to hell, right? That’s a pretty common view, that I’m sure many elected social conservatives hold.

If you mean the view that funerals should be picketed, yeah, I’ll bet that would be a tough one to spin.

I’ve revealed my ignorance way too much. And that I like marijuana.

I don’t think I stand a chance.

My weird trolling habits could be problematic.

A Doper friend of mine recently asked if I would ever consider running for public office, and my response was, ''No, I’m way too honest."

I’m a very socially liberal atheist who has documented personal details about my dysfunctional family, my own mental health crises and my relationships. The internet knows more about my personal life than my IRL friends do.

And that’s not even counting all the things I’ve said that could easily be ripped out of context.

I knew that topic about sex toys for animals would come back to haunt me…

This. Then I’d totally lose the election.

I’m saying “No problem.” There are some things I’d rather not be aired in the context of a bid for public office, but there’s nothing worse than the things Joe Biden says when he knows he’s in front of the camera.

I suppose some “damage control” might be necessary, but only in the sense that public candidates are always running damage control on virtually everything they say. In particular, you’re not going to find any nude pictures or any sexting in my history. No shopping for drugs on the Internet. No defending the Holocaust or supporting conspiracy theories.

I’ve typed and deleted so many things in this space that I give up. Let’s just say I’m doomed. :stuck_out_tongue:
