Have you used Invisalign or similar?

Interesting. Maybe that’s why my Invisalign treatment didn’t completely eliminate the small gap between my lower right molars. But they did mostly fix the crowding in my lower front teeth and also straightened them out.

Thanks for the replies! I just finished my first SureSmile trays and started set #2. I don’t know how many I’ll have; my dentist said she thought half a year, which would be 13, but my trays are labeled out of 21. That may include revisions after the half-year, or further initial adjustments. I’ll have my front incisor crowns replaced at around the half-year mark, after one has repositioned. That’s what I know, and I’m glad I’m not a teen on Reddit who just can’t figure out why they can’t make themselves wear the trays and just stare at them for a while before failing to put them in.

If you got through one whole tray set in good shape, you’ve jumped the hurdle of new habits. Not that I doubted someone as disciplined as you would struggle with it even a moment.

Hooray for a sucessful new journey!

Thanks! Yes, I was 100% adherent during the first trays. I used more dental floss than I previously did in several months, used my new Waterpik twice a day, and brushed teeth and trays after every meal. Didn’t have anything but water with the trays in. I do need 40 minutes wirh the trays out for some meals and cleanup or I have stomach and gut pain. Still had the trays in for 22+ hours a day.

Trays #2 are a bit challenging. They’re configured such that I can’t actually close my teeth so I’ll need to be aware of my jaw posture. I interpret this to mean that they’re working on the top tooth that needs to turn and be tilted in while not yet working on the bottom tooth that already hit the top one at an awkward angle. This may usher in a period of yogurt, protein drinks, tofu, and careful chewing on the other side.
