About thirteen years ago my 5 lb chihuahua treed a couple of fist-sized kittens. After a few days, I would arrive home to find the black kitten hanging out with my dog- the kitten had climbed into the pen with the dog. In November, the dog got out and got killed in the road. I then took the cat inside and in December got a new chihuahua. They were best buddies too. Dog 2 even trained the cat to lick him whenever he wanted him to. Dog 2 eventually had to be put down at 11 years old. I waited about three months and got a pound puppy. The cat took a few days to adapt to his third dog, but they play all the time now and cuddle occasionally.
