In [the slightly different intro for the pilot episode “Cocoon,”](http://www.wayn.com/waynvideos.html?video=21564057&wci=watch) you actually get to see the hula dancer’s face, not just her swiveling hips. She actually has some screen time in the ep. In the re-edited syndication two-parters for “Cocoon,” though, it’s the standard intro, and her dance routine has been completely edited out. ---

Wow, thank you for that! While I love the fast speed-in to the building roof with Jack Lord and the snappier musical production, I really like this pilot version with its volcano and fire spinner footage. I can also do without the multiple airplane shots. ---

The plane is probably a 707, because the 747 hadn’t been invented yet in 1968, but your main point is correct - there is no better intro than that. Reza Badiyi is the man who put that together. ---
