Cool. Twelve more to go… As a refresher on offseason trading, you are free to trade away any and/or all of the players listed above as eligible keepers. The 3 keeper limit is unrelated to offseason trading; it doesn’t kick in until the keeper deadline, which is _after_ the trading period. I’ll post the draft pick value chart once all 14 owners join the yahoo league and I can set the draft order. ---

So far I’m 4 for 4, from Vick to McNair to Leftwich to McNabb, I’ve yet to have a guy play more than 8 games in a season. You know, now that I look at it, maybe I should just draft a white guy. ---

I am really not a fan of the current distribution on team defense: Points Allowed 0 points (15) Points Allowed 1-6 points (11) Points Allowed 7-13 points (6) Points Allowed 14-20 points (0) Points Allowed 21-27 points (-2) Points Allowed 28-34 points (-4) Points Allowed 35+ points (-7) only [one team in the league](http://www.nfl.com/stats/teamsort/NFL/DEF-SCORING/2006/regular?sort_col_1=3) last year allowed less than 14 points: Baltimore, with 12.8 points allowed per game. New England was next with 14.8. Giving zero points for a GOOD performance (e.g., 17 points allowed) and giving negative points for a fairly decent performance (e.g. 21 points) does not seem fair. It is not in line with the points system for all the other positions in the league. I propose Points Allowed 0 points (15) Points Allowed 1-6 points (11) Points Allowed 7-13 points ( **7** ) Points Allowed 14-20 points ( **3** ) Points Allowed 21-27 points ( **1** ) Points Allowed 28-34 points ( **-2** ) Points Allowed 35+ points ( **-6** ) comments? ---

It’s good to discuss; I’m actually glad you brought it up. The DEF scoring was basically just a WAG based on the discussion linked in the OP. The original idea was that 17 and under is a “win”, similar to how a “good” day passing is 300 yards and for a rusher it’s 100. Whether or not these bits of conventional wisdom correlate to game day is the appropriate question to ask. Using [pro-football-reference.com](http://pro-football-reference.com) as a source, I copy/pasted the 2006 schedule for all 32 teams into a text file and then did some clever Search & Replace operations to create a csv file for easy analysis in Excel. (For some reason VBulletin won’t let me stick the list inside code tags, so I’ll send it via email upon request.) Combining your numbers and mine, I get: Best team average: 12.6 Average team avg: 20.66 Worst team average: 25.8 Points: 10,577 Games: 512 Mean: 20.66 (Average) Median: 20 (Midpoint) Mode: 20 (Most common) StDev: 10.11 Bucketed Game Totals: Gms %Of512 Points * * * 015 02.93% 0 023 04.49% 1-6 094 18.36% 7-13 127 24.80% 14-20 136 26.56% 21-27 069 13.48% 28-34 048 09.38% 35+ * * * 512 100% I haven’t yet formulated an opinion based on these numbers. In the meantime, any thoughts are welcome. ---

Ellis, Those are some really nifty stats. I’m not quite sure what to do with them, but I likes what you’re doing. Interestingly, I think with enough statistics like these you could come up with the ultimate ideal fantasy football scoring system by quantifying the contributions from all the various roster positions.
