I don’t see the ad, but it’s almost certainly Faker, the android (I think) who was built by Skeletor to take He-Man’s place. Another excuse to sell the exact same toy. I always thought it was cool that J. Michael Straczynski had an early job as a writer on He-Man. ---

In the original series, anyway. In the more recent toy-line, Faker’s got himself a (partially, at least) new mold. A new head, at the very least. ---

I just had to look at different pics and bios of various Masters of Uinverse Villains, I think I might have lost a D20 of SAN. Who the hell wrote that shit? ---

For the uninitiated, in the days before the web when Usenet was king, a guy who called himself Judge Moriarity Wapner did several on-line parodies based on The People’s Court. The above episode took on Saturday morning cartoons. ---

And Orko, wth is with that _thing_. I realize that kids programs have to have a wacky sidekick and all, but he was the worst magician in the universe. Did he ever get one frickin’ spell right? Ever? If I were He-Man, I’d would have kicked Orko into an active volcano long ago. Then again, if I were He-Man I wouldn’t be sporting a page boy haircut either. ---

I do not believe that I remember this, but as I recall, the reason Orko couldn’t do anything right is that he was from another universe/dimension, so all his powers were backwards. During one story arc, Adam and he went to Orko’s home dimension/universe, and it turned out that Orko was this super powerful wizard whos spells always worked. That was the episode where it took Adam then entire show to figure out that in order to transform to He-Man, he had to say the power phrase backwards. “Grayskull of power the by”! ---
