Was just watching [Flesh Gordon](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068595/fullcredits#cast) (Power pasties, heh) and reading the credits on IMDB. Noticed the voice of the “Monster” was done by Craig T. Nelson. A more famous example might be John Laroquette doing the voice over in [Texas Chain Saw Massacre](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072271/).

What are more examples of famous actors/actresses being involved in… less than stellar productions?

My favorite was always Liam Neeson playing Briar, in _Next of Kin_.
I don’t think a porn with Dan Rather would be 1/2 as funny.

Jeff Goldblum and Sigourney Weaver had tiny roles in Annie Hall (1977)

Sigourney is a tall woman who gives Dianne Keaton a handshake near the end of the film. It’s a distant shot and she isn’t recognizable. According to IMDB it was her first movie role.

Goldblum gets to speak a line, but he’d been in films for 3 years then.

A lot of people forget that Christopher Walken was in that movie too. He was Annie’s freaky brother who fantasizes about driving along and then suddenly swerving into another car head on. Allen’s facial expression when the bro is driving them to the airport is priceless. Another small role is Shelley Duvall as the vapid, talkative Rolling Stone writer who beds Alvy after he breaks up with Annie and apologizes that it took her so long to come. She was a name then, it was after **Nashville** but before **The Shining** , so it may not fit this thread.

JoBeth Williams had a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it role in **Kramer vs. Kramer** as a woman who stayed overnight with Dustin Hoffman’s Kramer and meets the kid in the hallway the next morning.

Since people are mentioning _Annie Hall_ and _Kramer vs. Kramer_, are we abandoning the “less than stellar” requirement? I have a few more I’d mention if we are.

Richard Dreyfuss can be seen as a an extra in a “blink and you miss it” scene in “The Sentinel” (1977). And speaking of Jeff Goldblum, who also appears in that movie, all his lines are dubbed.

Jeff Goldblum’s best known unknown role (oxymoron alert) was probably _Death Wish_ in which he played one of the rapists.

David Schwimmer played a gang leader in _The Warriors_.

I once won a five dollar bet with somebody who didn’t believe John Goodman was in _The Big Easy_. I offered to go double or nothing on him being in _Revenge of the Nerds_ but my friend wouldn’t take me up on it.

Michelle Pfeiffer in Grease 2.

Sarah Silverman was in two (well, one two-part) episode of Star Trek: Voyager, which I only found out about while browsing the Star Trek Encyclopedia. My personal opinion is that Voyager fits the criteria for lousy show/movie quite well.
