I have a goatee, too.

I think that if I were to shave my head I would consider using [Headblade](http://www.headblade.com/default23.htm).

I think my hairline is trying to tell me to start thinking about it…

The partner-in-crime is now sporting a van Dyke. I have one friend who shaves his head who has just the goatee, and one with moustache and no chin fuzz. I think that a totally naked male head looks a little too neotenous for my tastes.

I don’t shave my head completely smooth but I do use the “poodle trimmer” to shave my hair to about an eighth-inch (using the #1 guard). I do this monthly or so.

It’s much easier than shaving every day or so.

I also have a goatee.

Yes, I’m going naturally bald.

I’ve noticed the trend myself - shaved head + goatee/VanDyke. I personally think it’s the best combination. It makes the guy look “dangerous” somehow. I went completely clean shaven for a couple of days, and I couldn’t grow the beard back fast enough. I think it’s because a completely hairless head on a man makes him look lizardlike. Or maybe like Gollum 😉

I think that wearing a beard with a shaved head also makes the statement, I’m bald because I want to be!" It also makes it clear that the baldness is desired, and is not the result of, say, chemotherapy.

Mainly, though, it just screams, “Badass!”

Or not. 😃

And now, for the ultimate irony. Actually, two of them.

My commanding officer considers a shaved head a “faddish” haircut, thus against the rules. In the military. That’s one.

When I went to get my smallpox shot, one of the risk factors is for psoriasis. Since it runs in my family I made it a point to bring an area of flaky skin on my head to their attention. Lo and behold, I have psoriasis, though only on my head thus far. So I can’t shave it anyway.

I had planned on shaving my head, but due to those two circumstances I’ll never be able to. Then again, in a few years I may not have to, since I’m balding. Sucks to be me.

Someone else hit it right on the head:

1. In front of the mirror

2. Mach 3 **only!**

3. Cuz chicks dig it.

Actually, I first shaved my head because I lost a bet with my students. They scored much higher on the California Standardized Tests than I thought they would. But it turns out that I am much less repulsive without hair than with. So…I keep it shaved.

I used to shave my head but recently grew it back since it made me look like a criminal. This is a good thing, though, as now I can answer people who say “Hey you have hair! nice, dude!” with “Thanks, I grow it myself.”

Can’t remember why I shaved it off to start with… The “chicks” did indeed “dig it”, but I think I was mostly just being the lazy bastard that I am.

Oh, I used whatever razor I had (usually Mach3) and usually shaved in front of my bathroom mirror, I never needed a mirror to see the back of my head since you can feel around and get a better idea of where you need to shave better, anyway.

I did sport a fancy beard for a few months, an Amish-style affair, but shaved it off since it made me look even more like a criminal. Luckily my head is an exquisite piece of cranial architecture so I looked OK without the beard…

Sorry **Cantera -** Headblades suck. They rip my head to shreds. Mach3 is the only way to go.

To answer Question #4 - Yes, I have a goatee. It fits with the whole “badass” image thing. 😃 But then, I haven’t shaved my upper lip in 31 years, and I had a full beard before I shaved my head, so it wasn’t that much of a change.

Wow!

What do you do, tuck your 'tash into your shoes?

LOL!!

Ok…to be a little clearer…I haven’t shaved my upper lip in 31 years. I HAVE trimmed the resultant 'tache regularly, so it isn’t quite the soup-strainer you had envisioned. 😛

Unlike Paul, I am **not** the Walrus!

Aaaah, Trimming… of course. :smack:

I bow my silly, foreign head in shame and slowly disassemble my shrine to the Titanic 'Tash and its holder, **Silenus**.

1. Shower. Less mess with the shaving cream and stubble to clean up, plus the moisture makes for a closer, less bloody experience.

2. Mach3, of course.

3. Well, I’d like to say it’s because I like the look (which I really, really do), but it was mostly prompted by my hair loss starting at the tender age of 16.

4. I don’t grow out any facial hair. Makes me look aerodynamic, like I’m from the future or something.

Every three months for the past year I’ve shaved my head. Does that count?

Anyway, I trim it with scissors, then use an electric trimmer to get to most of it off, finishing up with a cheap disposable razor in the shower.

I shave it to keep it short enough that I don’t have to think about it, and yet don’t have to pay a barber.
