Headaches & Migraines - HELP!

Imitrex is one of the more effective medications for migraines, but I’m one of those that had no such luck.

Well actually, it does seem to help sometimes. But usually only after taking two pills. Unfortunately, my insurance limits the quantity to 18 tablets every three months (With 18 tablets retailing at $280.00 at drugstore.com, I can see why.)

I usually take OTC Aleve (Naproxen Sodium), which is the only OTC that has brought any relief. Now that I’m able to ID the triggers, I no longer have them that often (2 or 3 times a month, instead of almost weekly when I was a kid).

Yeah, Imitrex is rather pricey. The injections are $140 for two. I’m now ‘allowed’ four each month. Since it’s not an “approved drug” by my insurance company (the pills are, but not the injections) I have to pay $35 per prescription instead of $15.
<insert random curses at insurance company here  >

I started with the pills, but like Joey P. I just threw them back up. They’re too damn expensive to be barfing back up, so my doctor switched me to the nasal spray but that made me gag, too, and I was put on the injections. I am the biggest crybaby wimp when it comes to needles, but believe me, you can have my Imitrex injections when you pry them from my cold, dead hands.
That shit WORKS.
