Disagree or agree about the war and how conscientious objectors were handled, you couldn’t help but admire the man because he stood by his principles at great personal cost. I can point to any number of people on the left that I have admired for their principled stances, even as I disagreed with them on the issues. I’m wondering, since you appear to decry the practice of basing such support on the “ideological direction someone is coming from,” if you have anyone on the right that you admire for their steadfast adherence to their principles. ---
