We were strongly advised in the Motorcycle Safety Foundation’s Basic Riding course to never use Armor All on any part of a mortorcycle. The stuff soaks into the bead where the tire & wheel meet. Surprisingly it doesn’t make the tires leak around the rim; the problem is that big surprise when you come to an intersection and the light turns red so you squeeze the brake levers. The brakes grip the rotor and the rotor bolts grip the wheel and the wheel fails to be gripped by the rubber bead of the tire… And of course it makes a seat nice and shiny and SLICK, which means if your bike stops properly when you brake and do that cool ‘stoppy’ at the light, your pelvis won’t stop moving forward. Fortunately, bystanders will be laughing too loud to hear you screaming in falsetto inside your helmet. (Not only that, but the after-effect of Armor all is that it seems to dry out plastic, vinyl, rubber, and other motorcycle seat upholstery, making it crack & tear faster than sunlight alone.)
