From what I’ve read, they’re done filming the Batman movie. So, unless they’re going to reshoot all the scenes, we’ll have another Crow.

A quick Google indicates that it was a amicable breakup, and most quotes have been the polite “we just grew apart” and “we tried to make it work and failed” type lip service. Depends how cynical you are I suppose, but I haven’t heard anything that would indicate that drugs or psychological problems were at it’s root. Being that they were a pretty low profile and outwardly wholesome couple, it seems the tabloids took that at face value. I suppose time will tell if there was more to it.

It’s sad, as I enjoyed his acting, especially Brokeback Mountain, and I thought 10 Things I Hate About You was a cut above the typical teenage romance. But, and this is nitpicky, but I liked this detail from the article in the New York Times: “The housekeeper had been in the apartment for some time before Mr. Ledger’s body was discovered, and she let the masseuse in when she at the apartment for a 3:31 p.m. appointment with Mr. Ledger, the police said.” Perhaps it’s a typo because why wouldn’t the appointment be for 3:30pm or 3:45pm or 4pm? (Then again, the word “arrived” appears to be missing from that sentence, so perhaps it wasn’t edited as well as it should.)

They can just film the reshoots in an industrial freezer. Tape his mouth and eyes back and you’ve got a very young Jack Nicholson. From there all you’d need is some wire and a good puppeteer…

How f****ng ghoulish! I checked CNN to see if there were any updates, and they had a link to a video: “Watch Ledger’s body being removed”.
The hell? That’s not “news” that’s bizarro, voyeuristic weirdness! I know they’re going to bring out a body bag on a gurney, but that is something the world needs to see? Why?

There’s no sense in things like this in the world, not a bit of it. For what its worth he was very respected in the acting community, particularly for his voice which gave him a rare versatility to play parts of any age and kind.
