Any random rock from the Moon is already effectively a gemstone, of much higher price than diamonds, just by virtue of being a Moon rock. The local natural history museum, for instance, has a whole room of gemstones, and the one in the place of pride in the center, most prominent and with the most security, is a chunk of lunar basalt.
