Last year’s green ketchup was bad enough. I remember that Clear Pepsi. It was so disgusting and I actually knew people who drunk it. That green ketchup is pretty gross, never mix it with anything that will slightly change the color or it will look like baby crap. Purple is really wierd. What are these peoples problems. ---

I still don’t get this. Is making ketchup purple or green supposed to make us buy MORE ketchup? I doubt it will, because purple and green ketchup appeals to kids and I don’t think there is a problem with kids not eating enough ketchup, is there? Will different colors get it put on more foods? Oh man. I was blocking the memory, and now you’ve gone and reminded me again… At a friend’s lake party, this one couple brought hamburgers for grilling on the gas grill on the boat. No problem, right? Only thing is, they’d mixed the green ketchup with the hamburger meat. Now, ketchup as a main ingredient in hamburger patties is just _wrong_, but it’s not vomit-inducing. These patties _were_, however- uncooked, they were a dark brown-green (emphasis on the green) color. They looked EXACTLY like meat-gone-bad. Cooked, well… the stomach turns. Suffice to say the green was emphasized even further. They were quickly dubbed “snotburgers”. Great. Now I need to go purge. ---

Anyone remember the SNL commercial for Crystal Gravy? I have the sight of a woman dipping a drumstick into a jar of clear, gelatinous goo indelibly etched into my mind. I hate Heinz’s commercials, too. “Nobody knows what Est. means…” Yes we do. You’re a moron. ---

I read some interesting news releases about this purple ketchup. Not only is the aforementioned in other threads fact that there’s a color marketing group is interesting, one person, trying to show off how popular purple is nowadays, mentioned “there’s a purple Rugrat and a purple Powerpuff Girl.” Now, does he mean they _wear_ purple, or does he think they really _are_ a Barney-like shade of purple? (Maybe your grasp of reality is lost when you’re stuck in a ketchup factory-or a color marketing group…) ---

I don’t quite get the appeal of ketchup in all the colors of the rainbow, either. I don’t recall ever having a problem with the plain old red variety. However, in my inner child’s opinion, a glow-in-the-dark birthday cake is a kickass idea. Bring it to market posthaste. ---

Especially since there is no purple Powerpuff Girl, unless you count Bunny. You have a point there, **Smeghead**. But one-shot characters are popular in some cases- not in Bunny’s case, but definately in the Rowdyruff Boys’ case. It just shows how much ketchup-or color-groups don’t know about pop culture. (Yes, I also know more than I should about the PPGs.) ---

I went to the grocery store to get something for lunch today. I stopped by the ketchup area and noticed the purple stuff was on the shelf. Some girl (early 20’s I think) came running up and grabbed 2 bottles of it off the shelf. She then proceeded to start digging to see if she could find any more. Now, I guess, Heinz can say that coloured ketchup is eagerly awaited by comsumers. All food should probably be glow in the dark… ---
