> As to the OP, I think **Princester** hit the nail on the head when he said that the OP was confusing behavior born of socio-economic circumstance with inherited genetic traits. I’d wager that the OP would be just as scornful of, and just as desirous of keeping his distance from, ‘white trash’ lowlife types as he is blacks who exhibit the same kind of behavior, but he just hasn’t thought of it in those terms yet. He also needs to realize that just as white trash types are a small subset of the white population, the types of blacks he’s seen and developed resentment toward are a small subset of the black population as well. For every black person he sees who exhibits the kind of behavior he’s complaining of, there are many, many more who are living lives that he would consider every bit as respectable as those lived by mainstream whites, they just aren’t as visible as the emotional, criminal or violent ones.

I agree entirely. (Somewhere in the multiverse, an angel’s wings fall off.)

The OP asked at one point why we rarely see working class Jews - plumbers, carpenters, etc. If we can accept this on a broad basis (I’m sure one could find Jewish handymen if one looked) the answer again is not some big racial conspiracy. Subcultures which have traditionally valued higher education and professional status (to pick two stereotypes within America, Jews and East Asians) tend to go into professional fields and are more likely to be successful in them - medicine, law, business. Study hard, value success in professional fields and demonize failure, and you get a disproportionate number of successful professionals (also a lot of neuroses, but we’ve all got those). For a less stereotypical and more personal example, on my side of my largely middle-class WASPish family we’ve got bankers, engineers, small business owners, landscape architects, accountants - everybody went to college because that’s what you did. Hell, all three of us siblings have Master’s degrees - academic achievement made my parents proud.

OTOH, working class whites (as a generality) don’t tend to push their kids into higher education - in fact, based on the behavior of some of my poorer in-laws, many such parents see any ambition in this direction as their own kids belittling them or “getting ideas above their station” and actively discourage too much achievement (“If working in a factory was good enough for me, and my father, and my grandfather…”). So their kids stay in working class professions, and their kids’ kids and so on.

And if the OP’s formative experience with black people is with those who joined the Army at the bottom, then I’m not really surprised by the description he gives of them. The Army, especially for blacks, is an option of last resort and the majority (not all, by any means, but most) will be the poorer, less educated and less articulate, sometimes with family and behavioral problems and/or criminal records. Moderated behavior is not going to be a characteristic of this group.

But as pointed out, this is also true of many of the white people who join the Army, and much less true of the middle classes of any race. It’s a socio-economic thing.

The OP isn’t confusing anything. He no doubt saw bad behavior all around him, from people of all races, and chose to attribute the bad behavior of black people to their blackness, while attributing the bad behavior of white people to causes other than their whiteness.

It’s really not complicated. Racists are nothing if not simple people.

The OP has just as much content as any of the multitude of “Ask the…” threads. Generally they say what they are, and invite questions. To this point, he has attempted to respond to those who have asked direct questions regarding his racism. They have been few and far between though.

Seriously, I dont like racists either, but I wouldnt waste my time posting just to screech, “You are scummy scummy racist, not talking to you”. Yet here are five pages of it. Its all just RO, a big case of “lets pile on the easy target”.

**Ariovistus** , what about starting an “Ask the racist” thread in IMHO? Is there any reason not to? (Unless this is just trolling, but meh to that)

</div>

It’s not that I don’t want to read the whole thread (I skipped a couple of pages), but I’m a busy little negro and I have to get to work. So I’ll ask these as quickly as possible and hope that they haven’t been asked before:

Do you act consciously on your racial prejudices? If you were to see me, a black woman, walk by your house, would you assume I was up to no good and ask what I was doing? (I’ve had something like this happen to me before. Just so you know, it sucks.)

If your biracial cousins (if I’m remembering correctly) were to seek you out and try to get to know you, would you share with them your racist beliefs? Would it matter to you if you could see family resemblence in their faces and mannerisms whether or not to accept them as kinfolk?

When you see a black person who doesn’t fit into the narrow picture you’ve painted of them, what do you think? Are they cases of mere exceptionalism, possessing rare genetic mutations or anamolies? Or have you never seen a black person who did not seem inferior to you, including people like Colin Powell, Oprah Winfrey, Denzel Washington (just to name someone that a lot of people like just because he’s a movie star), and or own president?

Let’s say that you’re right about black people being overly emotional compared to whites. Why is being overly emotional any more annoying than being overly intellectual (which I would argue many black people feel about white people)? Why is emotional sensitivity inherently a worse quality than intellectualism? Emotions are the source of artistic expression–from music to dance to acting. Without emotions,we wouldn’t value morals or care about one another; we’d be insensitive robotic bastards who wouldn’t be much fun to be around. So why should I, apparently one of these “overly emotional types” (ha! if you even knew how wrong that is), feel inferior? And what precludes someone from being both emotional AND intelligent?

If you have only a limited amount of time, please try to tackle that first question at least. I’m genuinely curious if you’ll admit to not only harboring racist beliefs (which I think many of us have), but to also acting on them. And apologies to the reader if this has been addressed earlier.

If he isn’t confusing anything (per your first sentence) how did he come to arrive at the confused attributions described in your second sentence?

I must say I am not as convinced as you are that you have such perfect knowledge of the OP’s thinking that you would learn nothing by engaging with him.

He has been fairly engaged by a few but just abused by most because they already know all about him, just like he knows all about black people. His OP was missing a vital element but he seemed to make a reasonable attempt to fill this in later. No point pretending otherwise now.

So you believe that judging a group of people based on the color of their skin is equivalent to judging a group of people based on their stated beliefs?

Iiiiiiiinteresting. But stupid.

His OP was not just “missing a vital element.” It was deliberately deceptive. He’s the one pretending, that his opinions are a set of reasonable conclusions derived from wide-ranging personal experience (“a lifetime of coexistence with many different types of people”).

Speaking for myself, at least, I didn’t respond to him at all until I’d researched his record on the other site and compared it to his presentation here.

> [@Gyrate](#):
>
> And if the OP’s formative experience with black people is with those who joined the Army at the bottom, then I’m not really surprised by the description he gives of them.

You’re giving him too much credit, taking him at his word here that his _experiences_ of black people were what was “formative.” Go read his posts at chimpout. His general opinions were formed _before_ he had any direct personal experience to go on; everything he ever actually saw was through confirmation-biased glasses.

For example, he’s admitted (boasted?) that he had no real contact with black people until after he’d joined the army. Yet [here](http://www.chimpout.com/forum/showpost.php?p=476361&postcount=4) he relates what I’d call a formative experience,

> [@Ariovistus](#):
>
> Imagine a solid Norse/German family: at least 4 generations of Norsemen and Germans in America, by virtue of their brains and sweat, created a nice life for themselves. Then, all of a sudden, one goes rogue and decides to burn coal. The shame was unbearable for my Grandmother and Grandfather (the Matriarch and Patriarch, respectively, of our family).
>
> We’ll call her “Patty” (not her real name). I always remember my cousin as a chubby, fun-loving little girl when they would come to visit at our house… running and playing in the sun, we hadn’t a care in the world.
>
> Then I didn’t see her for a number of years (around my teens). Last time I heard anything about her, my father said very tersely: “She’s shacked up with some nigger and has a half-breed”. That was the last thing I ever heard about her… the look of shame and disgust on my father’s face told me volumes.
>
> She is the disgrace of our family. She was disowned, disinherited and forgotten. I haven’t seen her in almost 30 years.

The lesson was evidently learned, and not just by him. On another occasion before he left home, he shared [this](http://www.chimpout.com/forum/showpost.php?p=498458&postcount=7) moment with his sister,

> [@Ariovistus](#):
>
> My little sister used to be fucking hilarious!
>
> I was giving her a ride home from Highschool one time, and she had saved a piece of fried chicken from lunch. It was a leg, as I remember. She munched it in the car on the way home, then looks at me as if to say “WTF do I do with this chicken bone?”
>
> I looked at her, then out the windshield at some gangly nigger walking along the sidewalk…
>
> I grinned. She grinned. Then she hangs out the window and yells “HEY!!!” and hurls the chicken bone at the nigger.
>
> The nigger whirls around in time to have the chicken bone bounce off his forehead. Cat 5 epic chimpout ensued.
>
> I swear to Almighty God, I have NEVER laughed so hard behind the wheel…

So eventually he gets to the army, and has to actually _work with_ black people for the first time in his life. [Here](http://www.chimpout.com/forum/showpost.php?p=555908&postcount=20)’s his account of what happened,

> [@Ariovistus](#):
>
> I led a blissfully nigger-free life until I joined the US Army.
>
> When I joined, there were a small bunch of us who had to wait until a Basic Training cycle started… so we were put into temporary quarters and subjected to all sorts of abuse in preparation for Basic.
>
> Anyways, I was chosen to be Squad Leader since I was the most squared away. Right away I had a problem with this big buck nigger. He wasn’t gigantic, but he was bigger than me (and I stand over 6 feet and weighed 230 at the time). I figured the best defense is a good offense, so the next time the nigger did something stupid I figured I would get into his face.
>
> “The next time” ended up being 12 hours later… he stole something (I disremember what) from another troop, and the troop came to me to fix the problem. I got into that niggers face and told him I knew he had taken whatever it was and that he needed to return it. He said “No. Whatchoo gunna do 'bout it?”
>
> I stepped close to him and snarled “I’ll be your worst nightmare”.
>
> INSTANT chimpout!! He tried to hit me, swinging wildly, which I easliy avoided. The whole time he was ooking and eeking all sorts of shit…

Now, is _that_ a formative experience? No. This motherfucker was _formed_.

There’s also a telling tidbit later on,

> [@Ariovistus](#):
>
> That nigger never came near me again… One of the other troops who was friends with him said that he thought I was ‘A crazy white boy’ (which I am… I don’t much care if I live or die, so long as I do it well) and if niggers fear anything or anyone, it’s the mentally unstable. (Which has been posited by my VA Counsellor… he says I’m ‘absolutely fearless’, but that I have a ‘distinct lack of empathy’ for anyone not related to me, along with other assorted garbage.. go figger).
>
> Remind me to tell you about the time in Panama I threw a nigger headfirst into a Coke machine…

I know it’s silly to focus on this one tiny tree in such a forest of bullshit, but I have to call this trope out. Everybody in Kentucky talks about the time they hung out with a bunch of Yankees who, upon learning of the Kentuckian’s place of origin, were surprised to find they owned footwear.

I’m saying that it didn’t happen. I’m willing to concede that it probably happened to Loretta Lynn at some point, but everybody else who pulls this out is just massaging their own persecution complex.

I’m only a few years younger than the OP, I’ve lived in KY nearly all my life (probably a couple of hours east of the OP, making me technically a bigger hick), and I’ve known people from all over, and I’ve never seen anything like that. The biggest misconception people have about Kentuckians is that we all get up on the first Saturday in May, put on our white linen suits, and go to the Derby.

A point well-made and taken. But then, the man apparently takes pride in being mentally unstable so he can hardly claim to hold the high rational ground in this debate.

Also, based on his story “Patty” sounds like the lucky one in the family.

Actually, this thread has been really informative. We’ve had lots of discussions about racism on this board, and there’s always a cadre of people who claim that racism is rare and not a big deal. Now, in this thread, we see people arguing that this racist is doing something rare and special by admitting to his racism. It’s akin to someone coming into a cat thread and saying how rare it is to see a cat, then coming into an “Ask the Cat Owner” thread and worrying that someone will scare the unusual poster, A CAT OWNER OMIGOD, away.

Do people really think that racism is so rare that we have to protect this delicate flower of white supremacy lest his kind disappear from view, never to be studied again?

IF they immigrated the correct way… but they didn’t do that. When umpteen millions of people from another country sneak into yours under cover of darkness, that is an invasion. No other way to define it.

The ones in the cities have seen Amis for so long, they hate us, and treat us accordingly. The average working slob out in the countryside will likely welcome you with a smile, since he rarely has had any contact with us.

> Arabs? Well, I’ll be honest. When they’re shooting at you, you tend to have a low opinion of them. But the honest working stiffs who just want to live their lives and be left alone? They got the same problems we have: families to deal with, bills to pay, grumpy neighbors, etc, etc.. I’ve read the Koran. Their prayers sound like our prayers. Not to be flip, but if they stopped blowing up schoolbusses and fish markets, I would have no problems with them.

> Jews? No opinion, other than they’re good fighters. But I would like to know why there are so many jewish lawyers, so many jewish people in the government, so many jewish people in the porn industry, the diamond industry, etc.. I’ve always wondered why they have been drawn to these professions, but I do not have an answer. You don’t see many jewish pipefitters, plumbers, carpenters (no Jesus jokes), woodworkers, farmers, horse trainers, farriers, blacksmiths, etc… I’m sure they exist somewhere, but I’ve never met any. I’m officially neutral towards them.

So how do you feel about Black Jews?

“What I did do was “judge” black people, as a group, based on the experience I have accumulated over my entire adult life. It is NOT (!) the color of their skin, it is their actions, values (or lack thereof), morals (or lack thereof), propensity towards violence, destruction of their surroundings, eternal victimhood and constant playing of the race card when faced with a problem.”

“To me, they are like children: Prone to overemotional outbursts, no respect for boundaries, no respect for personal property, overwhelming need for instant gratification, lack of forward planning, etc.”

Let me know when you’re willing to talk about black peoples’ strengths (that are equal to white people) and white peoples’ weaknesses (that are equivalent to those of blacks).

If you can’t, you’re saying black people are inferior.

Just because you don’t use a particular word doesn’t mean that’s not what you’re implying.

Definitions are important to me.
The OP defines himself as a racist, but he seems to be unwilling to make the statement ‘non-whites are inherently inferior to whites’.
That statement appears to me to be the essence of what racism is.
What I have seen from the OP is bigotry.
Racism is a subset of bigotry.

About time to lock this up?

I think **Sparky** drove the last nail in the coffin. Someone please mod some dirt over it and put up a nice headstone.

I’ll let the Pit mods make their own decision, but **spark240** ’s posts show the OP is a liar in addition to being a racist idiot. **Ariovistus** , you’re not a Viking warrior or a Germanic one either. You’re just some guy. I’ll assume you’re the guy you say you are, but if not, it doesn’t really matter. I will say you should drop this “I’m from Kentucky” excuse bullshit. My girlfriend was born in Kentucky and she’s also lived in West Virginia, which has its own reputation for backward racism, among other places. And she’s not a racist. The problem is not where you’re from, it’s you.
