Denzel Washington’s job is, literally, pretending to be other people he is not onscreen. I have a very low opinion of actors in general, with a few exceptions, and I find Washington’s performances to be all the same. I think we might take a moment to reflect on the many, many advances and positive developments racism and bigotry have brought to us. I can’t think of any offhand, but that may be a result of my narrow-mindedness and, of course, lefty hypocrisy. But I am open to hear of these, should anyone have some to offer. Wow. Were crickets always that loud? ---

The last few threads about race on this board have been completely idiotic. Maybe I should read the archives, maybe they all are. The one about the attractiveness of black women. Jesus, like there was an objective answer. That thread stayed in GD (how did that happen?) until someone petitioned to have it moved. It never occurred to the OP that some black men might find some white women good-looking, but none as drop-dead gorgeous as Alicia Keys, or whoever. What is the bloody point of that? You may as well start a thread about the most delicious vegetables. And this one? What could be a clearer example of trolling and, at the same time, an attempt to elicit a board war? The OP has no other posts here except in this thread. It was started in the Pit, which should make it obvious that it isn’t an honest attempt to discuss race and racial attitudes in the U.S… The only reason to start a thread like this is for a bigoted asshole to point and laugh at all the politically correct libruls on the SDMB. Of course, the OP was cunning enough to pretend that he has come to his views honestly and we should all take his infantile attitudes seriously. Maybe there should be a separate forum for turds like this thread: the Cess Pit. ---

But I am open to hear of these, should anyone have some to offer Let’s not forget there’s a thriving collectors’ market in [racist figurines](http://articles.sfgate.com/2005-06-15/home-and-garden/17376323_1_scars-catalog-replicas) and other statuary (among the most enthusiastic collectors are black people). Once I had a fabulous opportunity to pick up a statuette of a caricatured wide-eyed black child eating an enormous slice of Technicolor watermelon. Would’ve looked great in the garden, but I’m more into gargoyles. ---
