I disagree, Onomatopoeia. By not engaging at all you tacitly (at least in the ‘minds’ of those who are putting out those tendrils you are talking about) condone their attempts. It’s like not engaging in folks who push forth creationism, or 9/11 truther nutballs. By NOT engaging them (and heaping massive amounts of scorn on their heads), you open the way for them to continue spreading their filth. Plus, someone who is maybe on the fence and lurking sees that the person is not engaged and heaped with scorn, and that the thread is summarily closed by the Mods, and that makes an impression on those lurkers. By allowing a thread like this to run it’s course, lurkers and others see the negative impact that some idiot saying they are a racist has on at least our community. If this validates or confirms something to the OP, well, so would silence or having a Mod summarily close the thread. Since this idiot would be validated either way, I think heaping scorn and derision on him works best…plus, it’s frankly more fun. YMMV, but that’s how I see it. Fuck this guy, and the sister he rode in on… -XT ---

He’s a bullshitter and a liar and I knew lots like him in the military, telling outrageous stories about events that never happened, such as bashing someone’s head into a candy machine (or whatever it was), “snarling” at some guy who got in his face (what bodice-ripper did he get that purple prose from?), people being raped and property being damaged, and on and on and on. Either the dude is a disaster magnet, or he’s a fucking liar. I vote for the latter. ---

[/QUOTE] I actually believe the part about the chicken bone…or, at least I think it’s a true story, though possibly not an actual experience by the OP or his possibly fictitious sister. I’ve seen similar things happen when I was much younger (I once saw a guy throw a nearly full beer can out of his truck and hit a black child who was probably no older than 12 on the side of the head with it, then laugh about it with his buddies in the truck). Myself, what I don’t believe is that this idiot was an NCO in the army. Granted, I was Navy and not Army, but to me that part of his story doesn’t ring true at all. -XT ---

I won’t believe the raped girlfriend story either, unless he provides a link to the newspaper story or a photocopy of the police report. I’d say the OP has heard these stories and is basically working them into his own life saga to post on his racist sites…exactly what you were saying in your post. While I’ve met people who have had a lot of shit happen to them (my father, for one), as you say, my BS detector is pegging out at the max with this guy. Even if everything he said was true (the probability of which is pretty close to absolute zero), he’s still a close minded little buttmunch with an IQ only slightly higher than pocket lint, trying to revive a time in the US that was shameful to every real American. It’s sickening to me that there ARE American’s out there (plenty of them) who feels like he does, that blindly hates like he does, and that are as fundamentally close minded and stupid as he is…and that these folks can vote! -XT ---

Not saying it happened or it didn’t (I believe the OP was a super special secret soldier about as much as I believe he’s a rocket scientist), just that lack of a paper trail doesn’t mean it didn’t happen. ---
