Help me find a phone mount for my car

I routinely use wireless charging, so I don’t want to stick a piece of metal to the back of my phone.

My existing mount can be used either in portrait or landscape, and i use portrait 100% of the time, so I’m only interested in how well mounts with in portrait mode.

And i looked at the somewhat recent thread that popped up.

I’ve tried a few phone holders. This one clamps tight to the vent, without blocking it, and is solid. The phone does not move when driving. And when the phone is not in the holder, you don’t see the holder, unlike most phone holders that are about as aesthetically pleasing as scaffolding. The only thing that could be more minimal would be the magnet which attaches to the vent, but this one brings the phone a few inches closer to the driver, closer that the radio. Some of those might work. But I’m looking for updated recommendation.

That’s why I stuck it to the windshield. The long flexible arm compensates so the phone is closer to you.

I’d prefer to avoid more stuff on the windshield. This car has limited visibility already. And the bottom of the windshield is really far from the driver, at a really shallow angle, so there’s not a lot of space to mount it low on the windshield.
