Hello, my name is \_\_\_ and I’m addicted to caffeine. I’m also a recovering self-harm addict (yes, it’s a real thing). I never plan on giving up caffeine. I don’t smoke, rarely drink, and don’t drink soda or eat fast food. It’s my one vice and, damnit, I’m keeping it. When I go without drinking an energy drink for a few days I get migraines so bad I throw up. I used to drink 2 large Monsters a day, but now I’m down to 1. I have a heart murmur, so I’m not really supposed to have a lot of caffeine; but it hasn’t hurt me so far. Doctor says I’m healthy. Family always gives me crap about it because they’re health nuts. ---

Oh, yes, **Dung Beetle** , me too on the animals. When I’m away from the cats I keep thinking I see a cat out of the corner of my eye. And, my DH says he can’t believe I admitted to some addictions without mentioning yarn and knitting. Um. Yeah. There’s a term: Stash Acquisition Beyond Life Expectancy, or SABLE. I have SABLE. ---

Maybe not addiction but definitely a compulsion. Every night before falling asleep I HAVE TO PLAY at least one game of Sudoku on my IPAD and one game of Solitaire. Then, when I wake up in the morning I have to do the same. On weekends I may actually lay in bed for an hour or more in the morning and play multiple games. ---

Hello, My name is shunpiker and I’m addicted to gasoline. I love internal combustion engines and enjoy the thrill they offer. I just can’t get enough of the suck, squish, bang and blow. I often find myself tearing my flat-track bike around in \*circles \*or my DR350 along quite-familiar trails just to burn the sweet juice. Should I mention the chain saw…? That’s like free-basing. Oh, and I’m a bit of a voyeur… I enjoy watching other people burn the stuff, too. Especially in their MotoGP bikes and Formula One cars. I also dabble in oil, but my real vice is that sweetly refined petrol. Even when responsibility calls, I still find time for an occasional fix. One could say that the ~500,000 gasoline explosions as the soundtrack to my daily commute are cathartic, in a way. Well you could say that if I wasn’t addicted. Oh, and sodas/soft-drinks. But I’m doing better with that one. ---

'ello. My name is…oh. Not anymore. The Great Sun Jester is addicted to Skyrim and cooking. Not eating so much (ulcers and loads of self-loathing), just the cooking part. I totally get off on people getting off on my alfredo, or chili, or toffee, or enchiladas or muffins, or…this weekend I’m teaching myself hollandaise. Oddly, I don’t cook in Skyrim. ---

Had to check the definition: “Addiction is defined as not having control over doing, taking or using something to the point where it could be harmful to you.” So that’s a pretty wide definition as I don’t have any control of going to work or breathing. As to the OP’s definition, I’d say I’m addicted to nothing except nicotine. I regularly enjoy wine, movies, cooking, reading and sleeping. But I can do without them all, except sleep, for lengthy periods and just feel a bit miserable. ---
