Of course, I’ve had phones that have NOT gotten wet, but have had those strips change color due to condensation.
IMO, if a phone can’t handle a night in a car, it’s not designed well enough. I’ve also been told that the phone “shouldn’t have been carried with me all day hunting, then brought into a warm house” for the same condensation reasons.
Yes, well, I doubt I could have taken it back anyway. It’s older than a year, which I think is what the warranty covers. With my last phone, half the buttons stopped working (luckily, not the number ones, but the ones that let me get into my address book, and the ones that let me turn the phone off of silent, and some other very important ones), and they wouldn’t give me a new one. I had to wait until the 2 years I had had it was up (New Every Two Verizon thing.) I was not a happy girl. I also want to emphasize that that phone was most certainly not washed, and I don’t know that it even ever got wet! They’re just mean and stubborn.
This phone, however, I think I may be in love with. Mostly because it’s working (and it was a top-loading washer). The picture’s still a tad bit off, as I mentioned before, but all the buttons appear to be working (take that, other phone!) and the condensation has cleared up. Granted, now that I have given it such a good report, the damn thing will probably stop working.
Thanks so much for all your suggestions, guys. I realize how incredibly lucky I am here.
