Hopefully some dopers can help me out… I’m trying to figure out what to get my best man in my wedding next month and coming up dry. Since it’s a destination wedding and he’s travelling from Ohio to Florida to be in the wedding, I’d like to get something cool. He definately falls into the geek category, so I’m trying to stay away from the things remembered type gifts, if only he’s not the kind of guy who needs an engraved pocket knife/clock/money clip. I’d like to get something memorable tho, as we’ve been friends for 10+ years So, please post your ideas or at least what you’ve gotten you’re best man… ---

Well, I went a step up from the “engraved pocketknife” – I went to a knife store and got some relatively high-end Leatherman tools. One model for my groomsmen, and one (slightly fancier, more Cadillac-y) model for my best man. I engraved the handles of most of them, but the best man’s knife had too much texture on the handle, so he got the blade engraved instead. ---

Get a flask engraved. Give him tickets to a Pro game (any sport). Tell him to take flask to game and enjoy beverage. I have no real clue. I’m a chick.
