Help finding Carol Burnett Skits

Tim Conway as the Old Man. Damn, those were hilarious.

I remember one when he ran a butcher or deli counter. Ended up falling into the display case.

On another one, I have never seen anyone fall down stairs so slowly before.

My favourite sketch is the Pail

The one sketch I’m dying to see again, and never see in any of the anniversary/reunion shows, is one where Harvey and Tim are British soldiers on a remote Pacific island…they are the only two there, and get along just fine. Until the mail drop, and Harvey gets promoted, and instantly becomes a complete martinet, ordering Tim to “Parade the troops!” and Tim tries to comply by marching past, running behind the grass hut and marching past again…I don’t remember much more, because I was laying on the kitchen floor, gasping for air and laughing hysterically…

That’s the line that got me! Maybe you had to have seen Gone With The Wind to appreciate the sketch, since the dress in the movie is so gorgeous!

Or at the dry cleaners, where he ends up hooked to the rotating hanger rack going round and round.

It was hilarious seeing Harvey Korman trying not to crack up.

I was always waiting for Harvey Korman to die of a brain aneurysm (sp?), because he spent so much of his time nearly strangling to keep the laughter inside and keep a straight face.

Look at Carol’s face when she is standing at the top of the stairs in the dress. Her eyes practically pop out from surpressed laughter.

Harvey Korman was the only person they told about the dress, so he would stay in character.

I’ve been trying to find a clip I saw once where Carol Burnett was lip-synching herself in a serious vocal segment, but her stage crew sped up and slowed down the tape and she kept up with it–it was hysterical! Can anyone out there remember the name of the song, or know where I can find a clip of it? Thanks . . .

I’ve heard that set the record for the longest laugh by a live audience for any TV show.

“I don’t have a fork” was not Carol Burnett. It was from a god-awful variety show Mary Tyler Moore attempted shortly after her sitcom went off the air. I’m sure of this.

(I’ll be back to comment on Burnett. Just wanted to post that first.)

Thanks, at least I know where to look now. Maybe. But it makes sense; Grandma sure liked MTM.

Still can’t find it, but at least now I know where to look. But its not on youtube.

Language is a bit spicy for the uptight workplace, otherwise if you aren’t in tears by the end of Carol Burnett Show outtakes - Mr. Tudball needs a secretary then you weren’t meant for this world. Among the funniest outtakes I ever saw. I’ve been circulating it in email for a week or so.
